El Toro Restaurants was established in 1960 by the Ybarra family. Since then, they have built numerous different Tex-Mex restaurants and a tortilla manufacturing company. In 2007, the Ybarras commissioned Jason Aleman, owner and Creative Director of Cohesive Media, to create a logo for their manufacturing company – El Matador Foods.
Little did Jason know, this would be the center point to the rest of his career.

While working on the El Matador logo, The Ybarras saw and appreciated the value Jason had to offer and extended a job proposition. At the time, El Toro was developing ways to increase quality and value in the promotions they offered. It was here where Jason developed a 3-point system that changed the trajectory of how he approached design.

As Art Director, Jason created a new brand for El Toro, redesigned all the menus and design collateral, produced several videos, and implemented his 3-point promotional system.
It was this system that created the cornerstone of Jason’s career. By the end of the fourth quarter, Jason’s efforts increased El Toro’s revenue by 2 million dollars – an over $25,000.00 increase a month at each store.

Since then, the Ybarra family and business have been working with Jason and Cohesive Media for over 10 years. Including a fresh new take on branding for both El Toro & El Matador brands.
