I definitely started with more curiosity than strategy. I was simply drawn to the challenge of turning ideas into something people could see, feel, and remember.
Like a lot of designers, I spent those early years chasing the next creative challenge and doing more learning than leading. If it could be imagined, I wanted to figure out how to make it.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that visual impact was only the beginning.
Great creative work also needs a clear purpose. It needs to connect with the right audience, communicate the right idea, and support something larger than the visual itself. Without that foundation, even a great-looking concept can quickly lose its direction.
That realization changed everything.
Today, discovery and structure give me the freedom to enjoy the part I love most. Once the objective, audience, and identity are clear, you’ve created the right sandbox to play in. Every creative decision suddenly has purpose. Photography, motion, messaging, color, typography, and sound stop competing with each other and start telling the same story.
I’ve always cared about the small details that bring an idea together. If experience has taught me anything, it’s which details elevate the work, which ones serve the larger objective, and when the project is ready to ship.
I’ve always been drawn to illustration because it invites imagination. It gives an idea character, texture, and personality. It makes something feel crafted instead of assembled.
And once I can see it, I want to make it move.
That curiosity led me into motion graphics, animation, filmmaking, and visual effects. I taught myself because static visuals weren’t always enough. Sometimes a story needs movement. Sometimes a complex idea needs to be made clear. Sometimes a brand deserves to breathe.
Over the past 20 years, that curiosity has grown into a disciplined production process. As Senior Video Producer within Phillips 66’s Brand & Integrated Media department, I worked within established brand standards while managing projects from concept and script development through storyboarding, 2D and 3D animation, compositing, sound design, and final delivery. The work required close collaboration with managers, directors, and stakeholders, along with organized project structures that could support feedback, revisions, and dependable delivery.
I’ve also directed animated segments for primetime broadcast television, created visual effects for film, and led multidisciplinary creative projects through Cohesive Media. Whether I’m developing a project independently or joining an established production team, I bring the same approach: clear communication, thoughtful collaboration, technical problem-solving, and a commitment to work that serves the larger objective.
Different industries. Different audiences. Different production environments. The process is always the same. Understand what the work needs to accomplish. Build it with purpose.
Then create something people won’t forget.
